The move follows Smith’s announcement on Howard Stern’s show that he would be joining SiriusXM with two new shows slated for September. One show will focus on pop culture and social commentary, while the other will replace Beadle and Decker’s mid-afternoon program.
Beadle, who previously worked with Smith at ESPN, expressed her displeasure upon learning the news. She told listeners she and Decker were blindsided by the decision.

Beadle later elaborated on her feelings, stating she doesn’t respect Smith or his work, referencing past disagreements stemming from Smith’s comments on the Ray Rice domestic violence case in 2014. She had criticized Smith’s remarks at the time, leading to a week-long suspension for him from ESPN.
Decker and Beadle’s final show aired Thursday. siriusxm plans to rotate hosts in their former time slot until Smith’s program begins in September.
Smith claimed he was unaware that beadle and Decker hadn’t been informed of his takeover. He has regularly featured Chris “Mad Dog” Russo on his ESPN show First Take.
