Mico Power, Received Minister’s Commendation ‘Korea Energy Awards 2022’

[월간수소경제 이종수 기자] MycoPower (CEO Ha Tae-hyung), a company specializing in hydrogen, announced on the 2nd that it has received the Commendation of the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy for revitalizing the hydrogen economy at the 2022 Korea Energy Awards.

The Korea Energy Awards, hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and organized by the Korea Energy Agency, are the most prestigious government awards in the country’s energy sector, which select and award meritorious people and organizations that have contributed to the development. the national new and renewable energy industry and improving energy efficiency.

The ‘hydrogen economy regeneration’ field was newly established this year, and MycoPower was recognized for its contribution to the regeneration of the domestic hydrogen economy and industrial development through the development and dissemination of fuel cell technology.

MycoPower started developing SOFC with its own technology in 2008 and is the only company in Korea that has built a full cycle batch production system of cells, stacks and systems.

Starting with the fuel cell construction business, in order to advance to the fuel cell market for power generation from 2025, it signed an investment memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Pyeongtaek City to establish a next-generation fuel cell mass production line. Hereby, MycoPower plans to build a 50MW class SOFC mass production line in Pyeongtaek Brain City general industrial complex in stages, and participate and cooperate jointly in Pyeongtaek’s hydrogen business, such as creating a complex specializing in hydrogen and a hydrogen city. .

The base module that MycoPower is currently developing to advance into the fuel cell market for power generation is 150kW and is planned to be released as a city gas based TUCY Q150 and a city gas based TUCY Q150H system on hydrogen. In the case of the SOFC system for power generation, the goal is to achieve a high power generation efficiency of 60% or more.

In addition, the SOFC power generation project promoted by MycoPower not only achieves a reduction in carbon emissions with high power generation efficiency in terms of power generation, but also achieves carbon neutrality by using hydrogen directly through hydrogen mixing in stages. Above all, if other energy sources are replaced using the cold heat and steam produced during power generation, additional carbon can be removed, a system that can eventually realize carbon negatives.

Taehyung Ha, CEO of MycoPower said, “This award is a valuable achievement that officially recognized MycoPower’s efforts to revive the hydrogen economy and contribute to carbon neutrality. Meanwhile, we will play the role of a control tower to create an ecosystem for the home. hydrogen fuel cell industry.”
