Microsoft and hardware partners launched a new wave of NVIDIA RTX Spark-powered computers, led by the Surface Laptop Ultra starting at 2,599 dollars, alongside competing machines from Asus, Dell, and MSI, as reported by outlets including Affärsvärlden, Feber, and SweClockers. The systems arrive with pre-orders open and initial deliveries scheduled for October 16, 2026.
Surface Laptop Ultra Starts at 2,599 Dollars
Microsoft priced the Surface Laptop Ultra starting at 2,599 dollars, according to SweClockers. Affärsvärlden reported that the 15-inch laptop features up to 128 gigabytes of memory and delivers up to one petaflop of AI calculation capacity.
SweClockers noted that the entry-level Microsoft configuration for 2,599 dollars includes an 18-core processor, 5,120 GPU cores, 24 gigabytes of memory, and 512 gigabytes of storage. Feber added that separate developer hardware, the RTX Spark Dev Box, launches at 6,000 dollars with a 20-core CPU, 6,144 GPU cores, 128 gigabytes of unified memory, and a 2 terabyte SSD.

Hardware Competition Across Asus Dell And MSI
Asus priced its ProArt P16 at 53,990 kronor in Sweden with the full RTX Spark N1X chip, 64 gigabytes of shared memory, and 1 terabyte of storage, matching the US price of 4,399 dollars plus tax, SweClockers reported. The outlet also noted that Asus models with the smaller processor start at 2,799 dollars, or roughly 33,800 kronor with tax.
Other manufacturers joined the hardware rollout with distinct specifications. Dell priced the XPS 16 Creator Edition at 3,799 dollars with 32 gigabytes of memory, amounting to just under 46,000 kronor, according to SweClockers. Meanwhile, MSI introduced the Prestige N16 Flip AI+, a 16-inch 2-in-1 convertible equipped with an UHD+ Tandem OLED touchscreen reaching over 1,000 nits, an SD card reader, four speakers, and a 99.9 Wh battery.
Arm Architecture Limits Steam Game Compatibility
SweClockers reported that the NVIDIA RTX Spark architecture delivers gaming performance comparable to a laptop running an RTX 5070 graphics card. However, because the systems operate on Arm architecture, standard Steam game compatibility remains limited at launch, with Microsoft promising hundreds of supported titles initially while other games like Call of Duty face delays until 2027.
