The match between ‘Nuclear Fist’ Mike Tyson (57) and boxer YouTuber Jake Paul (27) is attracting a lot of attention.

The video streaming company Netflix announced on the 7th (local time) that it will exclusively broadcast the boxing match between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul, which will take place in Arlington, Texas, on July 20th through its streaming service.

Tyson is a legendary boxer who needs no explanation. He became the youngest heavyweight champion aged 20 in 1986, and with the devastating power of an iron fist, 44 of his 50 wins (6 losses) were by knockout. Inducted into the Boxing Hall of Fame.

Tyson returned to action against Roy Jones Jr. in November 2020, 15 years after retiring in 2005. According to Netflix, it attracted so much attention that it recorded the 8th highest paying viewers of all time. At the time, Paul had his second professional fight there, before the main event between Tyson and Jones Jr. At the time, he gained attention by defeating former NBA player Nate Robinson by KO.

At the time, Tyson was not an opponent that Paul could face.
When asked in a 2020 interview with TMZ Sports if he would fight either Tyson or Evander Holyfield, Paul said, “I’m sure that won’t happen. I’m not crazy enough to do something reckless like ‘ no,” revealed.

He then confronts Tyson.

Money seems to be the main reason for the conflict between the two. Netflix has entered the sports broadcasting market and is hosting big events one after the other. The most recent event was a live broadcast of an exhibition match (Netflix Slam) between living tennis legend Rafael Nadal and world number two Carlos Alcaraz last Sunday. It is highly likely that both were promised astronomical amounts of fight money.

The venue for the game is AT&T Stadium, the home stadium of the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League (NFL). It has a capacity of 80,000 seats.

According to local media reports, reservation ticket sales have already started. According to Vivid Seats, an online ticket trading site, the cheapest ticket from Thursday night local time is $203 (excluding fees), and the most expensive is listed for 8,575 (11.31 million won).
