Updated May 30, 2025
Argentine President Javier Milei is reviving the state-run children’s television channel Paka Paka with new content, including the animated series “Tuttle Twins,” which promotes free market economy principles. The channel, originally launched in 2010 by former President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, will debut it’s revamped programming in July.
The “Tuttle Twins” series presents cartoon versions of economists like Milton Friedman and Friedrich Hayek. The show follows siblings Ethan and Emily Tuttle as they travel through time and space with thier libertarian grandmother, learning about capitalism. Episodes address topics such as the downsides of state intervention and the dangers of excessive money printing.
Creators of the “Tuttle Twins” celebrated the possibility to reach millions of Argentine children with education about freedom, economy, and individual rights. The series is based on books from the Libertas Institute and distributed by Angel Studios.
Milei, known for his libertarian views, assumed the presidency in late 2023 promising to cut public spending. This led to production halts at Paka Paka and resignations from channel producers. A presidential spokesman announced plans to eliminate content with a Kirchner bias and adopt a more neutral vision.
Libertarian influencer Daniel Parisini praised “Tuttle Twins,” asserting that teaching children their ideology is not indoctrination but rather presenting the truth.
What’s next
The relaunch of Paka Paka and the introduction of “Tuttle Twins” will likely spark further debate about the role of government in education and the promotion of economic ideologies to children.
