Miley Cyrus Reflects on ‘Hannah Montana’ Legacy in Upcoming Disney+ Special

February 17, 2026 – Miley Cyrus is revisiting her roots as the iconic Hannah Montana in a 20th-anniversary special set to premiere on Disney+ on March 24, 2026.

The special, announced today, will celebrate the Disney Channel series that launched Cyrus to superstardom two decades after its initial debut. Filmed in front of a live studio audience, the program promises an intimate look at the creation of the character and the show’s enduring impact on fans worldwide.

Hosting the conversation will be Alex Cooper of the Call Her Daddy podcast, who will engage Cyrus in an in-depth interview. According to a statement released by Disney+, Cyrus will revisit the “moments, music and memories that defined an era.” The special will also feature never-before-seen archival footage and recreate memorable sets from the series, including the Stewart family living room and the legendary Hannah Montana closet. A nod to the show’s signature element, some familiar “notes” will also make an appearance.

“‘Hannah Montana’ will always be a part of who I am,” Cyrus said. “What started as a TV show became a shared experience that shaped my life and the lives of so many fans, and I’ll always be thankful for that connection.”

Hannah Montana, which ran for four seasons from 2006 to 2011, centered on Miley Stewart, a teenager leading a double life as a pop star. The series became a global phenomenon, influencing music, fashion, and children’s television. It spawned five soundtrack albums, four of which topped the Billboard 200 chart, as well as two feature films. The franchise generated 14 platinum and 18 gold albums globally.

The announcement comes as Cyrus continues to enjoy success in her music career, with her 2025 album, Something Beautiful, receiving critical acclaim. However, the Disney+ special marks a significant return to the role that first brought her widespread recognition.
