The controversy surrounding the millionaire pay that Marcela Cubillos received for her time in it University of San Sebastián I will add a new chapter, after they meet the voluminous transfers of resources to the house of studies from the Mineduc during the administration of the candidate who is now mayor, during the second government of Sebastián Piñera.

During the Piñera government, the study house was positioned as one of the largest suppliers to the State, as it registered a total of more than $7,000 million in purchase orders, where $5.7 billion was provided by the Under Secretary of Education, for various teacher training programs and technical advice for teacher evaluation.
Of this $5,700 million, $1,479 million was managed during Cubillos’ journey through the Mineduc, in contrast to the $9 million and $144 million that the University of San Sebastián received, in 2016 and 2017, before Piñera returned to La Moneda.
In the first year of Gabriel Boric’s mandate, the USS got $3,642 million, because in 2022 he agreed to various agreements signed in the previous administration, such as the contract for the clinical sample analysis service of COVID-19, which totaled almost $2 billion. After that year, purchase orders were reduced to $515 million in 2023.
