An innovative education initiative aims to captivate elementary school children with the wonders of aerospace and the importance of STEM (Science, technology,Engineering, and Mathematics) subjects. The goal is to foster an early interest in potential career paths within these dynamic fields. A creative competition is central to this initiative, offering children the opportunity to develop projects across two distinct awards.
Two awards encourage Creativity and Innovation
The initiative features two awards designed to engage children of different age groups and interests:
Grundschul-Award: Rockets from Recycled Materials
The Grundschul-award is tailored for children in the 3rd and 4th grades, and also after-school groups, inter-class groups, and school clubs. The challenge? To construct a rocket using everyday materials such as yogurt cups and toilet paper rolls. Participants are encouraged to document their creative building process through photos and notes. The success of the rocket’s launch is secondary to the ingenuity and creativity demonstrated in its construction.
The winning team will be rewarded with an awards ceremony followed by an engaging drone workshop.
Kids-Award: Flight Objects of All Kinds
The Kids-Award broadens the scope, inviting children to collaborate with family or friends to develop flying objects of any kind. Whether it’s a paper airplane, a confetti cannon, or a Frisbee, the emphasis is on creative progress and presentation. Participants are asked to submit a text or video message showcasing their project’s evolution and functionality.
The prize for the Kids-Award is an exciting trip to an adventure location, including travel and accommodation.
Important Dates and Information
The deadline for submissions for both awards is May 4, 2025.
