The government said it expects to be invited to the Democratic Summit being promoted by the Joe Biden administration, and said that discussions are ongoing.

An official from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs explained, “It is not yet in the official reception stage, but we expect to receive an official invitation from the US side.”

The United States will hold the Democracy Summit via video on the 9th and 10th of next month.

This meeting, as President Biden’s campaign promise, is interpreted as a goal to stand up against China and Russia, while at the same time rallying democracies around the world and solidifying the leadership of the United States.

According to foreign media, more than 100 countries were invited to the summit, including South Korea, Taiwan, and Japan, but China, Russia, Turkey and Egypt were excluded.
