Miracle Turns Cancer into Happiness: Raising Awareness of Lymphoma on World Lymphoma Day

The Lymphoma Club of Thailand Raises Awareness on World Lymphoma Day

The Lymphoma Club of Thailand recently organized its 9th seminar, titled “Miracle Turns Cancer into Happiness: Raising Awareness of Lymphoma,” on the occasion of World Lymphoma Day. The event, held at the Eden Zone in Central World Shopping Center, saw a significant turnout of patients and individuals interested in the cause. During the seminar, patients had the opportunity to exchange experiences and consult with hematologists on the topic of innovative lymphoma treatments.

Promoting Hope and Encouragement in the Fight Against Lymphoma

Professor Dr. Thanin Intharakamthornchai, President of the Lymphoma Club of Thailand and a faculty member at Chulalongkorn University Faculty of Medicine, emphasized that while lymphoma is a common form of cancer, it is also one of the few types that can be completely cured. He urged patients to maintain morale and find the courage to fight the disease.

Advances in Lymphoma Treatment

Current treatment guidelines for lymphoma employ chemotherapy in combination with targeted medicine. These new targeted drugs are being developed to specifically address each type of lymphoma, resulting in improved treatment outcomes compared to standard methods. Stem cell transplantation and immunotherapy are also utilized for patients who have experienced a relapse. Lymphoma is known for its high responsiveness to treatment, even in later stages of the disease.

Inspiring Stories of Triumph

During the event, inspiring stories of individuals who have successfully fought lymphoma were shared. Dr. Natharada Kachanan, also known as Lukmoo, shared her experience as a former patient with Stage 4 Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. After six months of chemotherapy, self-care, and support from family and friends, she is now on the path to recovery and has created a platform called “Rest the Lump” to provide support to other cancer patients.

Ms. Tatiyaporn Kongkatip, or Tai, a former patient with Stage 4 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, shared her journey as well. Through the use of ABVD chemotherapy and targeted medicine, her tumor shrank significantly, leading to remission that has lasted for two years.

Another survivor, Ms. Patcharawan Hutaseranee, known as Khun On, shared her experience with a 14-centimeter lump. Despite the challenges she faced, she maintains hope and has joined the Lymphoma Patient Club of Thailand to support other patients and their families.

Engaging Activities to Raise Lymphoma Awareness

The event featured various activities aimed at raising awareness of lymphoma. These included a lecture by a hematologist on innovative lymphoma treatments, Q&A sessions with specialist doctors to address any questions, and the opportunity to share experiences in fighting lymphoma. Attendees also had the chance to find inspiration through the “By Your Side: We are by your side” and “Infinite Empowerment” initiatives by the Lymphoma Patient Club of Thailand.

In addition, attendees were treated to a special appearance by Kao-Noppakao Dechapattanakun, along with a Fansign activity.
