Misiorowski Shines, Yelich Drives in 8 as Brewers Dominate Twins

MINNEAPOLIS – Jacob Misiorowski, a Brewers rookie, showcased his talent Friday night, carrying a no-hitter into the seventh inning against the Twins. The final score was a lopsided 17-6 victory for Milwaukee.
The 23-year-old right-hander from Grain Valley, Mo., impressed the crowd of 28,011 at Target Field. However, Twins manager Rocco Baldelli focused on his team’s performance after the crushing defeat. The Twins’ struggles continue as they dropped to a game below .500.
“Their young pitcher threw the ball very well,” Baldelli said. “But it’s certainly not where my mind is at right now. Obviously, we’ve got to just, play better baseball.”
Christian Yelich led the offensive charge with two bases-clearing doubles, amassing a career-high eight RBIs.This tied the franchise record previously set by Rowdy Tellez in 2019. Jackson Chourio and Joey Ortiz each contributed three RBIs. The Brewers’ offensive role was key to their success.

Misiorowski’s fastball reached nearly 102 mph,complemented by a slider averaging over 94 mph. Byron Buxton managed a walk to lead off the seventh, breaking up the no-hit bid. Matt Wallner followed with a two-run homer, trimming the Brewers’ lead to 12-2.
“We’ve got to come together as a team right now and collectively step up. Myself included, the coaching staff, all the players,” Baldelli stated. “As a team, we have to do better than what we’re doing right now.”
Wallner’s home run concluded Misiorowski’s outing.He received a standing ovation from Brewers fans. In his prior start, he pitched five no-hit innings against St. Louis.
Willi Castro, who whent 0 for 3 against Misiorowski, acknowledged the pitcher’s dominance. “You don’t see a guy throwing a slider 95, 96 (mph). It’s really hard to pick up,” Castro said.
Joe ryan (7-3) allowed three earned runs on three hits and three walks in 5 1/3 innings. He recorded seven strikeouts and threw 101 pitches. The pitching role was a stark contrast between the two teams.
