[베타뉴스=곽정일 기자] Mo Kyung-jong, preliminary candidate for Incheon Seo-gu of the Democratic Party of Korea, said, “The first commitment is to follow the original plan of Incheon city” regarding the recent controversial issue of extending Line 5.

In an interview with YouTube’s ‘New Day’ on the 31st, a potential candidate responded to the host’s question about what commitments he considered most important, saying: “What politics should do is achieve integration and harmony between local residents”.

He diagnosed: “The conflict between the old town and the new city of (Incheon Geomdan) is growing,” and “One of the causes of this is the problem of the extension of Line 5, and local residents (the old town) are feeling private due to this problem.

He added: “My first commitment will be to proceed with the extension of Line 5 according to the original plan of Incheon City.”

In response to the point that “there are concerns that the start of construction on the Line 5 extension itself may be delayed if this continues,” one potential candidate responded, “We will start construction on the common areas first.”

Furthermore, one potential candidate expressed his strong will to put his promise into practice, saying, “If you make the pledge itself based on what you have personally experienced while experiencing the lives of residents, you will be the first to make efforts to implement It.”
