On Saturday night, BJP leader Navneet Rana faced disruptions at a campaign rally in Amravati, Maharashtra. A group allegedly threw chairs and shouted threats, causing chaos at the event.
The rally occurred in Khallar village as Rana supported Ramesh Bundile, a BJP candidate for the Daryapur Assembly constituency. Authorities responded to Rana’s complaint by registering a case and launching an investigation.
Inspector Kiran Wankhade from the Crime Branch stated that a dispute arose between two groups during the rally. He confirmed that police restored order and set up a checkpoint in the village to maintain peace. Wankhade urged residents not to believe any rumors regarding the incident.
Rana demanded prompt arrests from the police, threatening that the Hindu community in Amravati would gather if swift action was not taken. She described the atmosphere as peaceful until some people began making inappropriate gestures and shouting religious slogans. Rana claimed that when her supporters intervened, the situation escalated with chairs being thrown.
The police are continuing their investigation into the matter as tensions linger in the area.
