The full-time permanent position comes with a starting annual salary range between €75,000 and €115,000, with compensation adjusted based on the selected candidate’s country of tax residence and local benchmarks, according to the official job listings. Hundreds of millions of public transit passengers worldwide rely on applications like Apple Maps, Google Maps, Transit, and Moovit to navigate daily commutes. Those navigation tools and transportation providers depend on standardized data structures to exchange information about subway routes, bus schedules, fares, and network disruptions. The General Transit Feed Specification, known as GTFS, is an open standard utilized by thousands of transit agencies globally, including the New York MTA, Tokyo Metro, and Paris RATP, according to MobilityData materials.

Role Responsibilities and Core Focus Areas

The Regional Director, Europe will report directly to the Global Engagement Director and oversee strategy across three primary business areas: funding and membership growth, regional policy and advocacy, and representation and outreach.

The candidate will work alongside government bodies, public transport authorities, operators, technology providers, and industry associations to accelerate the implementation of open mobility data standards like GTFS and GBFS.

Responsibilities include executing a regional membership growth strategy, meeting regional financial targets focused on European membership revenue, and identifying strategic funding partnerships aligned with organizational priorities.

The position is primarily Europe-based, operating under a hybrid structure that combines remote work with roughly 50 percent travel for international summits, conferences, and stakeholder meetings.

Compensation and Benefits Package

The starting salary bracket of €75,000 to €115,000 is paired with a comprehensive benefits program structured around local employment regulations in the candidate’s country of residence.

Employees receive a minimum of 20 days of paid annual vacation alongside paid leave for sick days, family responsibilities, and bereavement.

The organization also provides company-wide closure between December 25 and January 1 as employer-paid time off.

Additional benefits include health insurance or health premium reimbursement with virtual healthcare access, employer-sponsored retirement savings or pension contributions where applicable, public transit and shared mobility pass reimbursements, and a home office or coworking space allowance.
