Andrei Chernyak, a spokesman for the Main Intelligence Directorate, said that Russian invaders continue to illegally mobilize men in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. Thus, the Russians forcibly conscripted from 55,000 to 60,000 men into the ranks of the occupying army. He spoke about this in an interview with Radio Liberty.

“This is a forced mobilization: the invaders caught people on the street, they came to those countless enterprises that were still working, and forcibly took people away – they simply changed clothes and sent them to the front,” the representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate noted.

Chernyak said that the forcibly mobilized were promised service on the second and third lines, but in fact they ended up on the front line.

According to him, the Russian Federation also drives students from the occupied territories of Ukraine into the army.

“A man went to class in the morning and two days later he is already at war. As a matter of fact, Russia does not consider the inhabitants of Donbass and Lugansk region to be people, so the occupiers absolutely do not care, the laws do not work,” he said.

Chernyak added that the only real possibility for the forced mobilized to survive is “immediately, at the first opportunity, to surrender.”
