Actor Molnár Gusztáv Faces Arrest Warrant Amidst Ongoing Battle with Alcoholism
Hungarian actor Molnár Gusztáv is responding to news of an outstanding arrest warrant issued against him, asserting the matter stems from a years-old case. In a Facebook video, the actor confirmed the warrant and directed a message to his former partner and her husband.
“Tomorrow is Valentine’s Day, and I will be celebrating it with Dorina. And to the mother of my son and her police officer husband: please stop, thank you!”
The warrant was issued concerning the endangerment of a minor, according to reports. Molnár Gusztáv maintains he was unaware of the warrant and intends to collect the court documents in person upon his return to Hungary.
Previously, reports indicated that Molnár Gusztáv is currently awaiting the birth of his daughter with his wife, Mucsi Dorina, and the couple had traveled to Cyprus for a short break when the warrant became public on the police website.
The allegations originate from a claim made years ago by his former wife, Dancsecs Ildikó, concerning mistreatment of their son, with whom Gusztáv states he hasn’t had contact for approximately two years. The actor emphasized that the arrest warrant isn’t a new development, but a continuation of the older case.
“I just spoke with the Gödöllő District Court, because I was surprised to learn I was wanted, and I wasn’t even aware of this. I was informed that a decision wasn’t received by me, which may have happened because it was sent to a previous address. Despite my attempts to resolve this remotely, stating I could handle it through my client portal, unfortunately, I can only receive this document in person.”
Molnár Gusztáv told Bors newspaper that he had previously received a police decision stating the case was closed, but subsequent reports were filed against him.
“According to the reports, articles and appearances concerning my lifestyle and alcoholism had a negative impact on my son,” Molnár Gusztáv explained, adding that upon their return, his first action will be to visit the district court to receive the decision.
Fears of Arrest Upon Return
Molnár Gusztáv expressed concern about the potential for arrest upon his return to Hungary, but hopes authorities will consider his wife’s condition.
“Unfortunately, it’s possible that police will take me into custody when we land, but I hope they will at least take my eight-month pregnant wife home so she doesn’t have to carry the luggage. It doesn’t feel good, but I’ve learned to laugh about it. What bothers me is that my pregnant wife is with me, even though she knows there’s nothing new under the sun, and Here’s just a consequence of an old case.”
He did not specify when they plan to return to Hungary.
The actor has publicly acknowledged a long-standing struggle with alcoholism, having spent several months in rehabilitation in 2022. Reports from September 2024 indicated a concerning relapse, with photographs circulating of him appearing intoxicated in a public space. He reportedly sought help again following that incident, but declined to provide further details. His former partner also recently spoke out about his struggles, confirming reports of his relapse and expressing concern for his well-being. She requested the removal of photos depicting him in a vulnerable state, citing the impact on his family.
Molnár Gusztáv was hospitalized in February 2025, according to reports, as his condition deteriorated. Friends have reportedly expressed concern and some have begun to distance themselves from him.
