Monaco Secures First Champions League Win Against Barcelona

Monaco earned their first three points in the European Champions League after defeating Barcelona 2-1 on Thursday, despite the Spanish team’s numerical disadvantage.

At the Stade Louis II, Monaco capitalized on Barcelona’s numerical deficit after Eric Garcia’s early dismissal in the 10th minute. Magnes Akliusch opened the scoring for the hosts in the 16th minute.

However, Monaco’s progress was short-lived as Lamin Jamal equalized for Barcelona in the 28th minute.

Monaco secured their win in the 71st minute when Jorge Elenechia scored the second goal for the French team.

Monaco’s win marked their first three points in the competition, while Barcelona remained without any points.

Arsenal Ties and Atletico Madrid and Leverkusen Win

Arsenal drew goalless with Italian champions Atalanta in Bergamo, moving level on a point with the Europa League champions.

Atlético Madrid turned their deficit into a victory against German guests Leipzig, scoring two goals with a “volley” shot after a cross from Frenchman Antoine Griezmann.

German Bayer Leverkusen recovered from a 4-0 win away from Dutch Stadium Feyenoord Rotterdam, making more than a perfect start.

French Brest got off to a perfect start by beating its guests, Storm Graz, Austria, with goals from Ugo Manetti and Cameroonian Abdullah Sima.
