The epidemic in Macau continued, increasing to 299 cases yesterday afternoon, of which 71 cases were added in the 24 hours the day before yesterday, and 38 cases were added yesterday afternoon. The Macau government announced today and tomorrow that it will conduct the third nationwide compulsory inspection of the current round of the epidemic, and will suspend general public services for the second week in a row until Friday. As for whether private companies will be required to suspend work and reduce the flow of people, Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture Ouyang Yu pointed out that 90% of the population has been vaccinated, and with the availability of drugs and tests, the authorities hope that the epidemic prevention should not affect the public as much as possible.

Health Secretary Luo Yilong said that government departments suspend public services and hope that private employers will follow suit and try to let employees work from home; he is not sure how many times the national mandatory inspection will be done, it will depend on the actual situation. In addition, Zhuhai added two new cases imported from Macau, one of whom was a close contact of an imported case confirmed in Zhuhai earlier. The nucleic acid test has been negative for three consecutive times since last Tuesday, and the infection was confirmed last Friday night with mild symptoms.
Confirmed cases in Beijing and Guangzhou

On the mainland, a total of 14 local cases were added the day before yesterday, of which Beijing and Guangzhou each accounted for one, and the rest were asymptomatic infections. Among them, 7 were from Dandong, Liaoning, which borders North Korea, and the other 4 were in Shenzhen. Shenzhen Futian closed all community areas and urban villages from the early morning of last Saturday. It will end at midnight tonight. All entertainment venues in the district will be closed.

The epidemic in Taiwan seems to be falling from a high level. The day before yesterday, there were 39,586 local cases and another 134 deaths. The three cities with the most new cases were Taichung City, New Taipei City and Kaohsiung City, all of which exceeded 5,300. Taiwan Railways said that due to the obvious rebound in passenger volume, it is expected to gradually resume the previously suspended trains from next month.
