Al-Rayyed Club’s Goalkeeper Andre Moreira to Return to Training in Mid-October
Portuguese goalkeeper Andre Moreira is expected to rejoin Al-Rayyed Club’s group training in mid-October, according to sources close to the team.
Moreira, the team’s first-choice goalkeeper, has been out of action since the start of the season due to a knee cartilage injury sustained during a pre-season friendly match against Al-Kolaud.
Currently undergoing rehabilitation in his home country, Moreira is recovering from surgery to treat his knee injury. The medical and technical staff are monitoring his progress, awaiting his readiness to participate in team training.
In Moreira’s absence, Brazilian coach Odir Hellman is relying on goalkeeper Meshary Sr. until the Portuguese goalkeeper’s return after the upcoming international break.
Moreira has been an integral part of Al-Rayyed Club since joining from Switzerland’s Grasberg last summer, with his contract extended until June 2025.
