Collin Morikawa Seeks New Caddie After Split With Joe Greiner
Collin Morikawa is changing caddies again, this time before the Rocket Mortgage Classic in Detroit. He has ended his partnership with Joe Greiner, who caddied for him in the last five PGA Tour events. This follows MorikawaS split with longtime caddie J.J. Jakovac in April.
KK limbhasut, Morikawa’s former collage teammate at California and current Korn ferry Tour player, will caddie for Morikawa this week.
“Joe is an amazing caddie, but we were just a little bit on a different page,” Morikawa said. “It just didn’t feel right, and I have to explore other options.”
During his time with Greiner, Morikawa made the cut in each event, with his best finish a T17 at the Truist Championship last month.he finished 23rd at the U.S.Open,T50 at the PGA Championship,and T42 at the travelers Championship.
Greiner previously caddied full-time for Max Homa for six years before joining Morikawa. he also filled in for Justin Thomas when Thomas ended a three-year winless streak at the RBC Heritage.
Before Greiner, J.J. Jakovac was Morikawa’s caddie from 2019 until their split in April. Jakovac was on the bag for all six of Morikawa’s PGA Tour victories, including the 2021 Open Championship and the 2020 PGA championship.
“It’s a true relationship,” Morikawa said regarding his caddie relationships. “I wish J.J. and Joe all the best, but for right now, it just felt like I needed a fill-in.”
Morikawa, who is seeking his first PGA Tour win since October 2023, said he is unsure who will caddie for him at next month’s Open championship in Northern Ireland.
