Recordings show a frightening escalation in Mannheim: On Wednesday evening, a driver beat climate activists who were blocking a federal highway. The man beats the young people with slaps in the face and brutal kicks.
Why did the driver allow himself to be carried away by this act of violence? The activists had previously slowed traffic on federal highway 36 in a walking protest. When some men got out of their cars and aggressively met the demonstrators, they sat down.
However, attempts to defuse the situation failed. A driver freaked out. The consequences of the incident for him are not yet known.
