A former employee of MrBeast’s production companies has filed a federal lawsuit alleging sexual harassment, wrongful termination, and a hostile work environment where complaints were ignored or retaliated against.

Lorrayne Mavromatis, who served as head of Instagram operations for MrBeast’s companies between 2022 and 2025, claims she was promoted twice in her first year but faced adverse employment actions after raising concerns about workplace conditions in November 2023.

According to the lawsuit filed in North Carolina, Mavromatis alleges she was demoted, transferred to an obscure role internally referred to as the division where “careers go to die,” and ultimately terminated less than three weeks after returning from pregnancy-related leave.

The complaint states that sexual harassment of female employees was “both condoned and/or perpetuated” by supervisors, and that Mavromatis was treated differently than her male counterparts. She further alleges being told her claims were “unsubstantiated” when she reported a hostile work environment affecting herself and other women.

In one example cited in court documents, Mavromatis says she asked former Beast Industries CEO James Warren why MrBeast would not collaborate with her on certain projects, to which Warren allegedly responded that she was “a beautiful woman and her appearance had a certain sexual effect on Jimmy.”

A spokesperson for MrBeast’s companies, MrBeastYouTube LLC and GameChanger 24/7 LLC—which employ more than 700 people—denied the allegations and vowed to defend the case in court.

The spokesperson characterized the lawsuit as “a clout-chasing complaint built on deliberate misrepresentations and categorically false statements,” asserting that extensive evidence—including Slack and WhatsApp messages, company documents, and witness testimony—unequivocally refutes the claims.

MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, is the world’s most-followed YouTuber and spoke at the 2026 TIME100 Summit in New York City on April 22, 2026, just prior to the lawsuit becoming public.

Beast Industries, the entity referenced in related reporting, described the allegations as “categorically false” in its response to BBC Newsbeat, noting that Mavromatis first joined the company as head of Instagram before being promoted.

The lawsuit adds to growing scrutiny of workplace practices at major digital media companies, particularly those with rapid expansion and young workforces, as allegations of inadequate employment protections and gender-based disparities continue to surface in similar cases across the industry.
