The MSC World America, the company’s 23rd modern fleet unit, is scheduled for its official christening on April 9 in Miami at the new MSC Cruise Terminal. The terminal is described as the largest and most technologically advanced cruise terminal globally. The ship’s design blends European style with American comfort, catering too both U.S. and European travelers.
According to Pierfrancesco Vago, the event marked a moment of pride for both MSC Cruises and Chantiers de L’Atlantique. The new flagship is a testimony of our long and innovative collaboration, which has lasted for over 20 years and has given birth to five revolutionary prototypes and 19 ships.
He added that the collaboration aims to push boundaries by combining cutting-edge design, advanced technologies, and diverse experiences, setting new standards in the cruise industry while improving environmental performance.
Laurent Castaing stated that the improvements in onboard experience and energy performance are a result of the work by teams from both companies. To date, MSC World America boasts the best energy efficiency index (Eedi), which translates into the lowest carbon imprint of the entire cruise sector. We will still go further with the two twin ships that we are celebrating today.

The World Class prototype, which debuted with MSC World Europe in 2022, continues to evolve with each new ship incorporating innovations in design, technology, and guest experience. The ships are named after continents and oceans, reflecting the company’s global presence and diverse destinations.
