“This acquisition is part of a strategy to capitalize on the sustained growth⁤ of the sector ⁣and consolidate⁣ the relationship ⁤with the tenant (MercadoLibre),adding a second property leased to the same company,” fibramty said in the statement.

Fibra MTY, which has primarily focused its portfolio on real estate for light manufacturing, is selectively diversifying its investment commitment in logistics facilities while reducing its investment in offices.Nearshoring has promoted light manufacturing in recent ⁢months.

The investment in the logistics segment increases MercadoLibre’s presence as a major tenant. Recently, the ‍e-commerce company announced its largest annual investment‍ in Mexico, valued at $3.4 billion, as⁣ it seeks to⁣ grow in a market where it competes with companies like Amazon.
