Mugosa Shines in Homecoming Game, Leading Incheon United to Victory

Incheon, South Korea – It was a triumphant return for Mugosa as he made an impact in his first official match at the Incheon Football Stadium. After his comeback to the K-League, the renowned striker showcased his skills with 1 goal and 1 assist, solidifying his status as the ‘King of Incheon’.

On the 13th at 7:30 pm, Mugosa started in the highly anticipated 26th home match of the 2023 Hana One QK 1 League, facing off against Daegu FC. Demonstrating his exceptional abilities, he not only scored a goal but also assisted Jerso in finding the back of the net.

After the game, Mugosa graciously shared his thoughts, stating, “It was truly an exceptional match. Returning to Incheon and playing my first home game brought me immense joy, especially being able to contribute with a goal and an assist. I am sincerely grateful to my teammates and coaches whose shared efforts made this achievement possible.”

Expressing his gratitude towards his supporters, Mugosa added, “I am also thankful to the home fans who have shown unwavering loyalty. It is heartwarming to witness their love for this place.”

In this remarkable game, Mugosa, in collaboration with Jerso, secured two goals, proving to be an instrumental force in Incheon United’s victory. Reflecting on the current squad, Mugosa honestly remarked, “To be honest, not much has changed since my departure. Although players like Jerso, Lee Myung-joo, and Mpoku possess remarkable scoring abilities, opponents still put me to the test. Nevertheless, with their support, I have been able to score, which remains the most significant difference between the Incheon of old and now.”

Aside from being a crucial homecoming game, this day held special significance for Mugosa. A delegation of 26 members from Montenegro, his home country, visited the stadium to cheer him on. Showing deep appreciation, Mugosa stated, “The presence of the Montenegro crew instilled a great sense of responsibility within me. It was an honor to be able to invite them during their visit to Korea, and I am immensely grateful for their unwavering support. The gestures made by the club, such as presenting me with a gift and arranging a meet-and-greet at the stadium, were truly heartwarming. Wishing them a safe journey back to Montenegro.”

Continuing, Mugosa shared an extraordinary experience from a few years ago, “Back when I was playing for the national team in England, I had the pleasure of meeting two Incheon United fans. It was an incredible and humbling encounter. To now connect with the people of Montenegro in Korea, a distant land, is truly remarkable.”

It was very nice that the club gave me a present and even arranged an opportunity to meet me at the stadium. I wish you a safe journey to Montenegro.”

He continued, “A few years ago, I played in England as a member of the national team, and I met two Incheon United fans at the time. It was a very grateful and amazing experience,” he added, “I think it’s great to be able to meet the people of Montenegro in Korea so far away.”
