Bhubaneswar: Mumbai City FC reached the semi-finals of the Kalinga Super Cup. In the final match of Group C, Mumbai beat Chennaiyin FC by a one-sided goal and booked their ticket to the semi-finals. Mumbai reached the semi-finals as group champions after winning all three matches. Chennaiyin finished second after winning two matches.
The deciding goal came in the first half of an exciting game. In the 24th minute, young player Hmingtanmavia Ralte scored for Mumbai. Mumbai’s winning goal came from a cross provided by Dutch star Yovel van Nief.
With this, Mumbai City secured a half berth along with Jamshedpur FC and East Bengal FC. The winners of Group D will face Mumbai City in the semi-finals.
