Musk Claims Trump in Epstein Files Amid Social Media Feud
Updated June 05,2025
Elon Musk has alleged that president Donald Trump “is in the epstein files,” suggesting this is “the real reason” they haven’t been released. The claim is the latest salvo in a public spat between the two figures.
“Time to drop the really big bomb,” Musk posted on X.”@realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day,DJT!”
He followed up with: “Mark this post for the future. the truth will come out.”
The president and musk are currently engaged in a social media exchange, marking a breakdown of their relationship.
Trump wrote that Musk was “wearing thin,” and that he asked him to leave, also claiming he took away Musk’s EV mandate. He added that Musk “just went CRAZY!” before Musk made the claim about the Epstein files.
Trump also suggested terminating Musk’s governmental subsidies and contracts to save money.
the delay in releasing the Epstein files has reportedly frustrated MAGA supporters.
Attorney General Pam Bondi released a “first phase” of declassified files related to Jeffrey Epstein in February. She invited MAGA online personalities to view the files, but they contained previously released facts.
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said last month that she didn’t have a “specific timeline” for the release of the bulk of the files.
In January 2024, Trump stated on Truth social that he “was never on Epstein’s Plane, or at his ‘stupid.'”
Trump had previously described Epstein as a “terrific guy” in 2002, before allegations against him surfaced.
Trump’s name previously appeared in court filings related to a lawsuit brought by Virginia Giuffre against Ghislane Maxwell. No accusations of wrongdoing were made against Trump.
Other mentions of Trump in the documents claimed he and Epstein were on good terms, but did not allege any illegality.
Epstein, who had connections to high-profile figures including Trump, Bill Clinton, and Prince Andrew, died in jail in 2019 while facing sex trafficking charges.
What’s next
The release of further Epstein files remains uncertain, and the feud between Trump and Musk is expected to continue.
