Dominik Mysterio will challenge El hijo del Vikingo for the AAA Mega Championship at the upcoming WWE and Lucha Libre AAA Worlds Collide event in Las Vegas this September, on September 12th.
The match stems from a challenge issued by Mysterio, who claims Vikingo only won the championship at Triplemania due to interference from AJ Styles.At Triplemania, Vikingo successfully defended his title in a chaotic four-way match also involving Dominik, Dragon Lee, and El Grande Americano. The match saw a near-fall for Dominik after utilizing a loaded mask, but Styles intervened, ultimately leading to Vikingo securing the victory with his signature 630 splash.
Currently in his second reign, Vikingo initially won the AAA Mega Championship from Alberto El Patron in May.
The Worlds Collide special will be streamed live from Las Vegas at 10 p.m.Eastern, immediately following WWE SmackDown from Virginia. This event follows a previous collaboration between WWE and AAA in june, with both events broadcast live on YouTube.
