On the eve of Friday the 13th, residents of the Stella Maris neighborhood in the capital of Bahia recorded the moment when tin lights crossed the sky in the region. Last Wednesday night (11) was marked by curiosity to find out what the phenomenon seen in the sky was about.
It was around 10pm when environmental engineer Diego Marinho was watching a football match at home and the lights in the sky caught his attention. “At first I thought it was a reflection of those big party lights in the Exhibition Park, but then I realized that the lights were not uniform and reflected very intensely on the clouds,” he told CORREIO.
“The movement was not circular, it was very incoherent, but it was on two sides, as I showed in the video, which was another thing that made me curious”, he recounted.
Ghosts? Lost souls wandering the earth? The “strange objects in the sky”, as one internet user described it, although they scare the residents of the neighborhood, have nothing to do with the horror referred to by Friday the 13th or with supernatural. In fact, what happened was a simpler phenomenon than one might imagine.
“It could be related to the entry of the moisture that increases the winds. In any case, this was precisely due to a strong gust of wind, those coastal winds“, explained the meteorologist Andrea Ramos, from Climatempo.
According to Ramos, the phenomenon is quite common, what is different this time is the effect on the sky. “This effect was different, so much so that it attracted attention. We get these fires there, these changes could be modifying this pattern, which is common”, he suggested.
