[CBC뉴스] With Nam Hee-seok appearing as the successor MC for ‘National Singing Contest’, the reason for Kim Shin-young’s departure is being reexamined.

On the 4th, KBS announced, “We would like to inform you that Nam Hee-seok has been confirmed as the new host of ‘National Singing Contest.’”

He added, “I would like to thank Kim Shin-young, who led the show with youthful energy following the late Song Hae, and please support the new host, Nam Hee-seok.”

The first broadcast of ‘National Singing Contest’ hosted by Nam Hee-seok is on the 31st.

At the time, Kim Shin-young’s agency, C-JeS Studio, said, “The production team contacted us in panic after being notified of the MC replacement, and we received notification of the last recording last week. The last recording will be on the 9th.” She said, “I plan to work hard on the final recording with the production crew who have been traveling the country for about two years.”

The exact reason for Kim Shin-young’s departure is unknown.

‘National Singing Contest’ is KBS’ representative long-running entertainment program that began broadcasting in 1980, and features amateur performers who passed the preliminary examination singing on stage and communicating with the MC and audience.

Kim Shin-young has been active as an MC for ‘National Singing Contest’ since October 2022.

He was selected as the successor to the late Song Hae, who led this program for 34 years since 1988, and met viewers. The notice of her departure was announced approximately 1 year and 5 months after she was hired as MC.

KBS National Singing Contest broadcast time is Sunday at 12:10 p.m.

Meanwhile, Nam Hee-seok’s profile shows that he was born in 1971, is 53 years old, and is from Boryeong, South Chungcheong Province. He debuted at KBS’s 1st College Comedy Festival in 1991.
