Approximately 180 Napoli supporters were arrested in Eindhoven on the evening of October 21, 2025, ahead of their Champions League match against PSV Eindhoven, according to reports from Dutch police sources.
Four PSV Eindhoven fans were also detained for similar reasons in various locations throughout the city. Thes arrests occurred as authorities proactively sought to prevent potential disturbances before the Champions League group stage match.
Preventative policing and Fan Behavior
dutch police reported that while no significant clashes or fights occurred, the arrests were made as a preventative measure. A police spokesperson indicated that officers intervened to manage a “large group” of Napoli fans described as creating a “certain atmosphere” in the city center.
Despite requests to leave the city center, the fans reportedly did not comply, leading to their arrest for violating local regulations concerning public gatherings. Those arrested were transported to the Mathildelaan police station for questioning, and some individuals were found to be without valid tickets for the match.
