NASA has released a new set of images of Saturn captured by the James Webb Space Telescope and the Hubble Space Telescope, offering the most comprehensive view of the gas giant to date. The images, taken on November 29, 2024, reveal Saturn in both visible and infrared light, highlighting the planet’s turbulent atmosphere and providing complementary data from the two observatories launched over three decades apart.

Hubble captured Saturn’s reflected visible light, emphasizing its iconic yellow hues, which result from sunlight-reflecting ammonia crystals and hydrocarbons such as methane in the atmosphere.
