National Cricket Academy now in VVS Laxman’s hands; Will take charge on the 13th |

Bangalore: VVS Laxman will take over as the new head of the National Cricket Academy (Bengaluru) on the 13th of this month. Rahul Dravid has been appointed as the new Indian coach. Laxman’s television contract expires with the second Test between India and New Zealand (IND vs NZ 2nd Test). The BCCI Annual General Meeting has approved the appointment of Troy Cooley as the fast bowling coach.

VVS Laxman’s first task will oversee the Indian team’s preparations for the Under – 19 World Cup to be held on Caribbean soil in January – February next year. VVS will be with the Indian Under-19 team for the duration of the World Cup, according to PTI.

Dravid became the head of the BCCI National Cricket Academy (NCA) in 2019 after successfully coaching the India A and Under-19 teams. The appointment was for two years. The contract was later renewed by the BCCI for another two years. Meanwhile, Dravid is vying for the post of Indian coach. At first he refused, but at the urging of BCCI chief Sourav Ganguly, he took over the reins.

Legendary batsman Rahul Dravid has replaced Ravi Shastri as the new head coach of the Indian senior team. Dravid swept the T20 series 3-0 against New Zealand to usher in a new era in Indian cricket. Under Dravid, India are hoping to win the Test series as well. Meanwhile, BCCI President Sourav Ganguly has hinted that VVS Laxman will be the future Indian coach.
