29 locations including Asia, Americas, Oceania, Africa and Europe

National Geographic, a travel and exploration magazine, has revealed 29 travel destinations that must be visited in 2024. National Geographic announced that it selects travel destinations considering various areas such as gastronomy, nature, museums and art.

Of the 29 travel destinations, 3 are in Asia, 9 in the Americas, 1 in Oceania, and 3 in Africa. In comparison, the European region accounted for almost half of the total, with 13 cities, including Valletta, Malta, Pompeii, Italy, and Nolan, Norway.

First, in Asia, ▲Tainan, Taiwan, ▲Xian, China, and Sikkim, India were chosen. It is a city with mostly historical ruins. Unfortunately, Korea was unable to do so.

Tainan, Taiwan, will celebrate the city’s 400th anniversary in 2024 with various festivals, including a large-scale fireworks display. Xi’an is famous for its historical sites that contain relics from 2,200 years ago, including the Tomb of Qin Shi Huang and the Terracotta Army. The Indian state of Sikkim has long been a strategic military and political location, and you can go trekking along the Himalayan Mountains.

Except for the beautiful metropolitan cities of New York, Texas, and Miami, most travel destinations have natural surroundings and incredible scenery.

Likewise, in Africa, tourist destinations were chosen where you can see beautiful nature, such as Akagera, Rwanda, Andrepana Dry Forest, Madagascar, and the Republic of Sierra Leone.

The Europe region includes ▲ Scottish Alps ▲Belfast, Northern Ireland ▲Emilia Romagna, Italy ▲Galloway and South Ayrshire, Scotland ▲Nolan, Norway ▲North Yorkshire, England ▲Pompeii, Italy ▲Saima, Finland ▲ Tartu, Estonia ▲ Valletta, Malta ▲ Wales ▲ Ireland Wild Atlantic Way, etc.

It is a tourist destination chosen considering gastronomy, nature, historical sites, art, and international events. In particular, the entire city of Valletta, Malta, is a huge museum. It was registered as a UNESCO cultural heritage site in 1980.
