[날씨] National rain on Children’s Day… Heavy rain accompanied by gusts of up to 200 mm

Today, the first day of the holiday, the entire country was mostly clear, with the heat hovering around 30 degrees in broad daylight.

However, the weather situation will change significantly tomorrow, which is Children’s Day.

Heavy rain accompanied by gusts of wind is expected across the country.

The rain that started in Jeju tonight will spread to the west coast early tomorrow and gradually spread to the central region and the rest of the country.

Considering the forecasted precipitation, up to 150 mm or more is expected in the central inland area, near Mount Jiri and the southern coast, and up to 100 mm or more in the metropolitan area including Seoul and the southern region.

In particular, in Jeju and the southern coast, which are influenced by topography, heavy rainfall of more than 20-30 mm per hour is expected.

It would be a good idea to inspect the facilities beforehand.

Winds with instantaneous speed above 20 m will blow on the west coast of southern Chungcheong Province, Honam coast, Yeongnam coast and Jeju, and strong winds will also blow in other areas.

As there is a possibility of flights and ferries being canceled due to strong winds, you should carefully check the latest flight information if you are traveling to or from the island.

Let’s take a more detailed look at tomorrow morning’s temperature.

It is expected to be 17 degrees in Seoul, 18 degrees in Daejeon, 16 degrees in Chuncheon and 18 degrees in Cheongju.

At midday temperatures will be cooler, around 5-8 degrees lower than today, due to the rain.

19 degrees are expected in Seoul and Chuncheon, 20 degrees in Daejeon, 21 degrees in Cheongju and 20 degrees in Daegu.

For the moment the wind will blow very strong at sea, and the sea waves will be very strong, with a maximum of around 5 m on the southern coast.

Rain will continue across the country except Jeju next Tuesday.

Temperatures will drop significantly and it will be cool even during the day in the second half of the holiday.
