[이데일리 김정유 기자] Naver Webtoon announced on the 12th that it would serialize the webtoon ‘Yumi’s Cells Gaiden: Professional Office Worker’ as a Friday webtoon before the drama aired.
This work is a prequel to the webtoon ‘Yumi’s Cells’, which was completed in November last year. It will be serialized every Thursday with a total of 6 episodes, and will depict the small but great company life of ‘Yumi’. Ahead of the drama ‘Yumi’s Cells’, which is scheduled to be released on the 17th of next month, it is expected to heighten the fans’ expectations.

The webtoon ‘Yumi’s Cells’ is a work that expresses the daily life and love story of Yumi, an office worker in her 30s, through the eyes of cells in her head. It gained great popularity at the time of serialization by showing realistic episodes and delicate psychological descriptions between characters, along with an unusual setting that cells in the head control each character’s love, reason, and appetite.
The drama ‘Yumi’s Cells’, which will be released simultaneously on TV and tvN, will be directed by Lee Sang-yeop of ‘Knowing Wife’, and actors Kim Go-eun, Ahn Bo-hyun, Lee Yu-bi, and Park Ji-hyun have confirmed their appearances. In addition, it is expected to deliver a different kind of fun as it is produced in a new format that combines live-action and 3D animation for the first time in Korea.
