Al Jardine Releases New Single featuring Neil Young
Beach Boys co-founder Al Jardine has unveiled his latest single, “My Plane Leaves Tomorrow (Au Revoir),” featuring vocals from Neil Young. The track is part of Jardine’s new EP, ‘Islands In The Sun,’ which dropped Friday.
The new EP marks Jardine’s first release since his solo album ‘A Postcard From California’ in 2010. “My Plane Leaves Tomorrow (Au Revoir)” was recorded during the ‘A Postcard From California’ sessions, which also involved stephen Stills and the late David crosby.
The song opens with a BBC news excerpt and features the signature harmonies and gentle instrumentals reminiscent of jardine’s work with The beach Boys. flea of Red Hot Chili Peppers, who played bass on ‘A Postcard From California,’ contributes a trumpet part to the track.
Al jardine and The Pet Sounds Band will embark on a tour this summer, performing across the U.S. in July, August, and September.

What’s next
The Beach Boys are scheduled to perform their only UK show of 2025 at Englefield House in Berkshire on July 20 as part of their “The Sounds Of The Summer” tour. David Essex and Lulu will also perform. Meanwhile, Neil Young is set to headline Glastonbury this summer.
