The Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, criticized the ceasefire proposal by Hamas as an attempt to hinder the military operation against Rafah, in the southernmost part of the Gaza Strip.

Prime Minister Netanyahu said in a video message on the 7th local time, “Israel will not allow Hamas to restore its control or military power in the Gaza Strip.”

Israel plans to send a negotiating team consisting of mid-level officials to the ceasefire talks held in Cairo, Egypt to understand Hamas’s intention in accepting the ceasefire offer from the country’s mediator.
