Netflix’s entertainment show ‘Best Rugby: Die or Win’ has confirmed its release on December 10 (Tuesday) and released a teaser trailer. It is a sports survival entertainment show that shows the true competitiveness of rugby players who continue to move forward desperately, throwing their whole bodies for the glory of victory.
Producer Jang Si-won, who captivated viewers by adding authentic stories and fresh material that was not easily encountered in Korean entertainment through ‘The Strongest Baseball’, ‘Steel Unit’, and ‘Urban Fisherman’, chose rugby this time and showed off the fierce competition of Korean rugby players. It will feature a brutal battle.
In the teaser trailer released this time, the sight of seven teams gathered in one place to determine the best rugby team in Korea, and the golden championship cup placed between them, catches the eye. From Korea Electric Power Corporation, the undisputed strongest team in Korean rugby with all members of the national team, to Hyundai Glovis, which achieved the dignity of two consecutive wins in the ‘Korea Super Rugby League’, to POSCO E&C, the foundation of power rugby, to the dark horse OK Short Man Rugby Team, which created a sensation in the rugby world. Seven teams will participate, including the Armed Forces Athletic Corps with the spirit of an invincible phoenix, Korea University, the top predator in the college league, and Yonsei University, a rugby powerhouse with 80 years of tradition.
As caster Jeong Yong-gum once said, “It makes you think about what sports is,” ‘The Strongest Rugby: Die or Win’ is expected to provide fun and emotion to viewers through a month-long journey that is more dramatic than a drama. Producer Jang Si-won, who was in charge of directing, said, “Rugby is a sport where you have to move forward to win,” and added, “I think this is the first entertainment show in history that shows the inner side of rugby, the toughest sport on earth. I hope you enjoy rugby, which resembles our lives.”
This program also attracts attention in that it is a new survival entertainment show on Netflix, which created survival entertainment shows that captivated viewers around the world, such as ‘Physical: 100’ and ‘Black and White Chef: Cooking Class War’. It is expected to provide pleasure and dopamine through the dynamic and intense survival of Korean rugby players. It will truly show the passion and sincerity of the players who do not give up on rugby even in an environment so harsh that it is called a ‘rugby wasteland’.
