San Diego State Aztecs Defeat Nevada Wolf Pack in Mountain West Matchup

The Aztecs (18-6, 12-2 Mountain West) controlled the game from the start, leading 36-25 at halftime. A decisive 13-0 run in the second half extended their lead to 51-38 with 12:47 remaining, effectively sealing the victory. San Diego State outscored Nevada by three points in the final half.

Dixon-Waters shot 7-for-14 from the field, including 2-for-7 from three-point range, and was perfect from the free-throw line, going 4-for-4. BJ Davis added 14 points for the Aztecs, also shooting 4-for-4 from the free-throw line and dishing out five assists. Magoon Gwath contributed 13 points, shooting 3-for-3 from beyond the arc and 4-for-4 from the line.

For the Wolf Pack (17-8, 9-5), Price’s performance was a bright spot, adding two steals to his 17 points and 10 rebounds. Corey Camper Jr. Added 16 points and two steals for Nevada, while Tayshawn Comer finished with six points.

The Aztecs’ strong shooting performance proved crucial. They shot 52% from the field, compared to Nevada’s 40%. San Diego State also had a significant advantage in free throw shooting, making all 10 attempts, while Nevada went 9-for-15.

According to the box score, Miles Heide started for San Diego State and scored 2 points. Jeremiah Oden added 7 points, while Reese Dixon-Waters led all scorers with 20. For Nevada, Elijah Price led the way with 17 points, followed by Corey Camper Jr. With 16.
