New Hampshire Faces Prolonged Dry Weather, Raising Brush Fire Risk Across the State

MANCHESTER, N.H. — New Hampshire is facing a prolonged stretch of dry weather that is leading to an increased risk of brush fires, according to state meteorologists and forestry officials.

The dry conditions, combined with gusty winds and low humidity, have prompted officials to elevate the fire danger level across much of the state. Chief Meteorologist Mike Haddad of WMUR reported that the current weather pattern includes bright skies with some high clouds and seasonably cool temperatures, particularly along the coast, but the lack of precipitation has created favorable conditions for outdoor fires to ignite and spread quickly.
