Apple has unveiled its latest iPad mini, featuring an 8.5-inch OLED display, an A20 Pro processor, and IP67 water and dust resistance. The compact tablet starts at 759 € for the 128GB base model and arrives on store shelves on November 6, 2026.
The updated device brings major hardware changes to Apple’s smallest tablet line, including upgraded connectivity options and redesigned internal audio components. Preorders for the new hardware open on October 28, 2026, alongside expected announcements for other new Apple products.
OLED screen and A20 Pro performance upgrades
The new iPad mini moves to an 8.5-inch OLED screen designed to deliver deeper contrast and a peak brightness of 1,200 nits, which is double the brightness of the previous generation. Apple offers nano-textured glass options on the 256GB and 512GB configurations to cut down glare in brightly lit spaces. The chassis measures 5.4 millimeters thick with 24 percent thinner bezels, while the IP67 certification marks the tablet’s resistance to water and dust.

Under the hood, the A20 Pro chip delivers up to 60 percent faster multi-core processor performance for everyday tasks like photo editing and multitasking. Apple claims artificial intelligence processing speeds are 4.5 times faster than the previous generation. The tablet runs iPadOS 27 and incorporates Siri AI features, though that voice assistant remains blocked in Europe.
Audio, optics, and connectivity enhancements
Sound output gets an overhaul with custom woofer speakers built directly into the screen for stronger bass performance, paired with tweeters hidden between the glass and aluminum frame to sharpen high frequencies. The 12-megapixel front-facing camera now sits on the horizontal edge to improve video conferencing framing. Network connectivity expands with Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6 support, while cellular models feature a new C2 modem that increases mobile data speeds by up to 50 percent. The device also maintains compatibility with both the USB-C Apple Pencil and the Apple Pencil Pro.
Pricing and November release schedule
The tablet is offered in two color options: Midnight and Starlight. Pricing starts at 759 € for the 128GB entry model, climbs to 889 € for the 256GB version, and reaches 1,139 € for the 512GB configuration. Preorders begin on October 28, 2026, with retail availability following on November 6, 2026.
