New Single Flama Released by Artist Marta Shanti

South Catalan singer Marta Shanti released her new song «Flama» on September 11, 2026, marking a fresh chapter in a musical journey that took shape when she composed her first piece at age 19. The track showcases her unyielding musical style and is now available across major listening platforms, alongside content shared on YouTube and social media under the handle Marta Shanti Art. Shanti has been singing since childhood, but her artistic path crystallized at 19 when she wrote her first song, «Llibertat». Since then, writing and composing have become central to her life, though she admits to facing the common artistic struggle of building self-confidence. « I think I always wanted to, but it wasn’t clear in my head, » she reflected, noting how difficult it can be to believe in one’s ability to make a living from music and claim the title of artist.

A Musical Identity Rooted In Freedom And Tradition

Describing her work as coming straight from the heart, Shanti rejects strict genre boundaries, preferring the term « indomitable » to capture her sound. Her compositions draw from multiple traditions, blending Catalan Nova Cançó, rock, classic pop, and folk into a style she describes as difficult to name, free, and wild.

Live performances reflect this same refusal to be pigeonholed. Shanti performs at the front of the stage providing vocals and playing percussion on the cajón, accompanied by Didac Shanti Esteve on guitar, harmonica, and backing vocals. The project recently expanded into a trio featuring Marc Palacios, a percussionist specializing in traditional Catalan music, adding an increasingly rooted dimension to the ensemble’s repertoire.

Expanding Beyond South Catalonia

Following the September release of « Flama », Shanti intends to take her repertoire further afield. Alongside ongoing concert dates across South Catalonia, the singer plans to forge new collaborations and bring her music to audiences in North Catalonia.
