New Windows 11 Dev/Canary Update: What’s New and Improved

After not launching a new version of Windows 11 Dev/Canary for two straight weeks, Microsoft finally launched a new version this week. The new version launched this time is still for both the development channel and the Canary channel, but there are differences in the versions.

I would also like to remind Canary channel users again that if you no longer wish to use the Canary version, please switch to the Windows Insider Dev channel in the settings, otherwise, once a higher version of the Canary version is released, you may not be able to switch back to the development version, to the beta version or the official version in a short period of time.

Problem with the copilot window

Starting with this version, Windows Copilot has added a windowed mode. After startup, Copilot appears as a window, which can zoom in, out, move position, etc., just like other regular programs. time, Microsoft also maintains Copilot’s fixed dock mode. Users can click to set the button to switch.

Live subtitle function

After this update, click the quick settings (network logo) on the taskbar to add a live captions button, so you can quickly enable live captions via the quick settings when needed.

Progress bar style

Microsoft has updated the design of the progress bar below the application icon, and a thin line will appear below the colored progress bar for users to see.

The file manager decompresses the files

When performing unzip/extract operations, if problems such as file name conflicts occur, File Explorer will now also display a dialog box, allowing the user to choose to perform the same steps for all conflicting operations, such as skipping or replace.

Rename the printer

You can now rename printers from Settings, Bluetooth & Devices, Printers & Scanners.
