Soon the time will come when j-hope will start his military service. The South Korean is no longer unknown, because both as a member of BTS and solo he already managed to achieve quite a bit. He released his solo album last year Jack In The Box out. Jung Hoseok, as he is really called, is not the first of BTS to take up his military service: his group member Jin did so at the end of last year. Before j-hope will take a musical break, he wanted another gift in the form of give a single to his fans. For this song he collaborated with none other than his idol, J. Cole.
In “on the street” we hear a j-hope that we recognize and who reflects what he is good at: hip-hop and dance. His choice to work with J. Cole is therefore a logical one: the two complement each other perfectly and it feels as if both have been singing together for some time. The song is also very catchy, although it seems to get a bit too repetitive towards the end. Fortunately, “on the street” ends just before it gets boring, so we can still speak of a successful single.
