In the first half of this year, Nike emerged as the most sought-after brand in the limited edition peer-to-peer (C2C) Soldout marketplace. The brand showcased high performance in both the ‘highest increase in sales’ and ‘highest sales’ categories. According to Musinsa, a peer-to-peer transaction service, Nike sneakers were the top performers among products traded on ‘Soldout Trade’ from January to June.

Leading the pack was the ‘Nike SB Dunk Low Ben,’ a limited edition sneaker that witnessed a staggering increase of 1372% in resale value compared to its initial release price. Another standout collaboration between Nike and the renowned American confectionery brand ‘Ben & Jerry’s’, this shoe features a vibrant yellow swoosh and colorful patterns reminiscent of melting banana ice cream. Originally priced at 129,000 won, the average selling price soared to around 1.77 million won during the first half of this year through individual transactions.

Claiming the following places were limited edition sneakers created in partnership with acclaimed American rapper Travis Scott. These sneakers commanded significant resale price increases, with the Air Jordan 1 High OG SP Travis Scott Fragment Military Blue taking second place with a rise of 1331%. The Air Jordan 1 Retro Low SP Travis Scott (1131%), Nike SB Dunk Low Travis Scott (1055%), and Air Jordan 1 Low OG SP Travis Scott Fragment Military Blue (1042%) also experienced more than tenfold increases in resale prices compared to their release prices.

Irrespective of price, the ‘Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG Chicago 2022,’ released by Nike last year, clinched the title of the highest trading volume. This model is a reproduction of the iconic ‘Jordan 1 OG Chicago’ initial release in 1985 and gained immense popularity after its December launch. The ‘Killer Whale,’ colloquially known as the Nike Dunk Low Retro White Black, secured the second spot in terms of trading volume.

Completing the top five were the Air Jordan 1 Retro Low OG SP Travis Scott Sail & Regerok, Nike Dunk Low Fog Gray Retro, and Apple AirPods Max Silver (the officially released product in Korea).

A representative from Soldout commented, “Nike’s noteworthy collaborative efforts have translated into popularity in the limited edition peer-to-peer transaction market as well. We strive to ensure a seamless trading experience for customers through swift and accurate inspections.” He further stated, “We are committed to delivering the best service possible.”
