Nintendo Switch 2 Launch Delayed Until First Quarter of 2025

It was previously expected to launch in late 2024, in time for the New Year shopping season, but multiple sources indicated that Nintendo has delayed the launch until the first quarter of next year.

A foreign podcast program learned from five independent sources that the release of Nintendo Switch 2 has been delayed until next year. The VGC website learned from developers that the project being developed is due to be launched early next year, but cannot confirm that the launch date of the relevant hardware (Switch 2) will also be early next year.

Eurogamer, a website known for its reliable news, confirmed that the Switch 2, which was originally scheduled to launch at the end of this year, has been delayed until the first quarter of 2025 to ensure the launch line-up is complete and strong.

It is not clear which games have been delayed for Switch 2. Many game studios are now in the midst of developing software work for the new generation of Switch. Some third party units have been informed that the schedule new from Switch 2 early next year.

Analysts pointed out that even if it is postponed to the first quarter of next year, the revenue figures are still within the statistical period of the financial year 2025 (in April 2025) and will not have an impact on the stock price of the company. At the same time, Nintendo is actively planning to increase the price of the game to US$70, which is the same as the price of its friends.

In addition, analysts also predict that the price of Switch 2 will rise to US$400, which is US$100 more expensive than the current Switch. Considering the use of NVIDIA SoC, US$100 more expensive should be considered a blessing.
