NSW Police Inspector Amy Scott Breast Cancer Diagnosis Bondi Junction Stabbing
NSW Police Inspector Amy Scott, who was widely praised for her bravery in ending the Westfield Bondi Junction stabbing attack, has been diagnosed wiht a rare and aggressive form of breast cancer.
Police Legacy NSW,the NSW Police Force’s charity,described Inspector Scott as a ”beautiful friend and colleague” who is selfless and compassionate,and is now in need of community support.
“Just as she is so much more than her diagnosis, she is so much more than ‘the hero of Bondi Junction,'” the organisation said.
“She is a loving wife, mother of two young boys, devoted too serving the community through her work as a NSW Police Officer, and widely known as selfless, compassionate, and kind.”
Police Legacy NSW has established a fundraiser to help alleviate the financial pressures facing Inspector Scott and her family during this challenging time.
“She is fiercely independent and the first to champion others. whilst she is being well supported by her family, friends and colleagues, Amy has a long uphill battle ahead to beat this insidious disease,” Police Legacy NSW stated.
NSW Police minister Yasmin Catley expressed the distress felt throughout the police force, saying “the whole police family are suffering at the moment with the knowledge of her diagnosis”.
