Nuevo León prohibits the sale of dogs and cats

As of this Monday, May 1, in Nuevo León, the sale of dogs and cats from breeders in storesthis to reduce the cases of animal abuseabandonment and overpopulation of animals living on the streets.

The provision, the first of its kind in the country, aims to prevent up to 50,000 animals of this type from being slaughtered per year.

It must be specified that buying and selling in stores will only be allowed with sterilized pets. The dogs and cats offered must be from Canine and Feline Control Centersassociations and hostels registered with the Ministry of the Environment.
