NZ vs BAN: First Century Conway 2022; New Zealand in excellent form against Bangladesh

WELLINGTON: New Zealand’s Devon Conway has scored his first century of 2022. Conway (122) scored a century in the first Test against Bangladesh. The Kiwis were 158 for five at stumps on the first day of Conway’s century at the Bay Oval.

Bangladesh captain Mominul Haque won the toss and elected to field. The hosts lost captain Tom Lath in the fourth over. Will Young (52) and Conway combined for the third wicket to put the Kiwis ahead. Both added 138 runs. But Young was run out.

Later, Ross Tylel (31) and Tom Blundell (11) could not hold out much longer. Meanwhile, Conway returned to the pavilion. Henry Nicholas (32) is from Cris. Shoriful Islam took two wickets. Ibadat Hussain and Mominul Haq took one wicket each.

New Zealand will take on Bangladesh after a series loss to India. Bangladesh had lost to Pakistan. There are two Tests in the series. The second Test will be played in Christchurch from January 9.
